Privacy policy

Short version: there is no account, no login, and no database. Your progress never leaves your own browser.

What we store

Clue O'Clock keeps your game progress — which mysteries you have solved, your streak, your points — in your browser's local storage, on your own device. It is never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data erases it permanently, and we cannot restore it, because we never had it.

We do not ask for your name, your email address, or any account details in order to play.

Advertising

This site is funded by advertising served by Google. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technology to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where you have agreed to them. You can review Google's own practices at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Where the law requires prior consent — in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland — you will be asked before any advertising or analytics cookie is set, through Google's certified consent message, and you can change your answer at any time from the privacy link it provides. Until you agree, nothing is stored and nothing is measured. Refusing does not restrict the game in any way: every mystery, the vault and your streak work exactly the same.

Some optional video ads inside the game offer an in-game reward, such as an extra clue. Watching one is always your choice, the reward has no cash value, and skipping it costs you nothing.

Analytics

We may measure aggregate, anonymous usage — how many people played, how far they got — in order to write better mysteries. Nothing in that measurement identifies a person.

Children

The game is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data on any server, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request. Your data lives on your device and is yours to erase. Questions are welcome at hello@clueoclock.com.
